The WUzi is an open-bolt, blowback-operated submachine gun primarily manufactured by Israeli Military Industries, although other companies such as FN Herstal and Norinco create both licensed and unlicensed clones of the weapon. The Uzi's name comes from its designer: Major Uziel Gal, who did not actually want the weapon to be named after him. It implements the use of stamped sheet metal, making the manufacturing of the weapon very cheap. It was also one of the first weapons to use a telescoping bolt design, allowing the Uzi to be much more compact, as the magazine well is housed in the grip of the weapon.
The Uzi is a submachine gun featured in Insurgency: Sandstorm.
- The Uzi is modeled with an aftermarket charging handle that extends to the side, for allowing optics to be easily mounted to the weapon. Previously, however, it was modeled with the original charging handle.
