The 🌐IWI Tavor 7 is an Israeli bullpup rifle chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge designed and produced by Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) as part of the Tavor rifle family.

Insurgency: Sandstorm[]

The Tavor 7 is a battle rifle available for the Security Forces. It was added in the March 17, 2020 update.[1][2]

While originally comparable to the Insurgent ACE 52, the Tavor 7 is now actually functionally closer to the newly added MDR, boasting the same caliber and bullpup configuration. The main differences between the two are the fact that the Tavor 7 attempts to lean more towards dishing out large amounts of firepower in close quarters compared to the MDR.

This is due to the Tavor 7 firing faster than the MDR, and any other Battle rifle in the game. Firing hefty 7.62x51mm rounds at nearly the rate an M4A1 does practically ensures that if this gun shoots first, it will win most gunfights. Firing faster, however, comes with a harsher recoil pattern, making fully automatic fire less precise compared to the slower firing Battle Rifles. Recoil mitigation attachments will help ease the recoil, but will cost a lot on top of the already expensive weapon.

Another drawback to the Tavor 7 is its smaller capacity of 20 rounds, with an upgrade costing 2 additional SP to increase up to 30. Since it fires so fast, it may be a good idea to bring those bigger mags just in case (if players have the SP for it).

The Tavor 7 is able to use scavenged magazines from the ACE 52. Curiously, however, the ACE 52 is not able to use magazines from the Tavor 7, possibly due to a bug. The Tavor 7 is also not able to use scavenged magazines from the M110 SASS (and vice-versa) despite both using 7.62 NATO SR-25 type magazines.

Trivia[]

  • The real Tavor 7 has a built-in Picatinny rail hidden under a rail panel on the bottom of the handguard. However, the rail is not modelled in the game; whenever an underbarrel grip is attached in-game, an additional Picatinny rail segment is added to the bottom of the weapon's handguard instead of using the proper built-in one.
