SG 552

The SIG SG 550 is an assault rifle manufatured by the Swiss producer SIG Sauer AG. The rifle is a closed bolt, gas actuated rifle driven by a long-stroke operation system. The rifle features an ambidextrous safety and a four-stage fire selector, and is loaded with transparent polymer 20 round magazines, with 5, 10, and 30 round magazines also available.

It was designed in the late 1970s as a successor to the Stgw 57, commercially known as the SG 510. It entered production in 1986, after being adopted by the Swiss Military in 1983. A carbine variant was renamed the SG 551. Later, in 1998, the SG 552 Commando, an even shorter carbine variant of the SG 551, was introduced, with a redesigned bolt carrier group. The SG 552 remained in service for 10 years, until being replaced by the SG 553 in 2008.

The SG 552 is a cheap assault rifle given to Insurgent Riflemen and sub-classes. It is the cheapest Automatic weapon available to them coming in at 2 credits, the same price as the M16A4.
