Operation: Nightfall (officially Update 1.6) is a content update for Insurgency: Sandstorm. It was released on June 16, 2020, and marks the first use of the "Operation" naming convention for major content updates.
The theme of Operation: Nightfall is nighttime combat. The update adds the Tideway map (returning from Insurgency), night variants of the existing maps, Night Vision Goggles, night sights, the flashlight, and integrally-suppressed weapons. Operation: Nightfall also introduces paid cosmetics and skins as downloadable content, a first for the Insurgency series.[1]
