Armor, alternatively Body Armor, is an equipment item in the Insurgency series. It is a vest worn to reduce the impact and penetration power of projectiles, including bullets, explosive fragmentations, and debris. Both Insurgency and Insurgency: Sandstorm offer three types of armor, each with their own appearances, with further variations between Security and Insurgents. They only affect their coverage area on the torso and do not protect elsewhere on the body.

Like all equipment, different armors have varying weight. This affects speed and stamina.

No Armor[]

No Armor is the default armor option, providing little to no ballistic protection to the wearer but with the benefit of a lighter load and higher stamina.

In Insurgency, No Armor appears as a tan light ballistic vest for Security and nothing for Insurgents. It costs 0 Supply Points for both factions.

In Insurgency: Sandstorm, No Armor appears as a basic thin vest for Security and nothing for Insurgents. It costs 0 Supply Points for both factions.

Light Armor[]

Light Armor is the first tier of armor, providing basic protection to the wearer, with only light impacts to weight and stamina. It reduces damage to the torso by 60%.

In Insurgency, Light Armor appears as a tan basic ballistic vest for Security and a similar green ballistic vest for Insurgents. It costs 0 Supply Points for Security and 2 Supply Points for Insurgents.

In Insurgency: Sandstorm, Light Armor appears as a modern plate carrier vest for Security and a black ballistic vest for Insurgents. It costs 1 Supply Point for both factions.

Heavy Armor[]

Heavy Armor is the second tier of armor, providing extensive protection to the wearer at the cost of heavier weight and lower stamina. It reduces damage to the torso by 90%.

In Insurgency, Heavy Armor appears as a brown full-torso ballistic vest for Security and a bulky woodland camo ballistic vest for Insurgents. It costs 2 Supply Points for Security and 4 Supply Points for Insurgents.

In Insurgency: Sandstorm, Heavy Armor appears as the Light Armor plate carrier with a crotch guard for Security and a grey full-torso ballistic padding vest with a crotch guard for Insurgents. It costs 3 Supply Points for both factions.
