A laser sight projects a laser paraxially to the the barrel of the user's weapon, allowing the user to have a reference for aiming or designating targets.
Insurgency[]
The Laser Sight is a siderail attachment designed to provide users a guiding laser when firing from the hip, as hip-firing weapons in Insurgency is more difficult due to free-aim mechanics. It can be turned off using the toggle flashlight/lasersight button (G by default)
It is recommened to pay extra attention to where your laser is pointed; and when attempting to spot targets from afar, to turn off the lasersight (and flashlight) to prevent the enemy from spotting you.

Insurgency: Sandstorm[]
"Projects a red dot where weapon is pointed making it easier to hit enemies at close range without using weapon sights."
— In-game description
The Laser Sight is a siderail attachment featured in Insurgency: Sandstorm.
Like the previous game, the laser sight projects a red dot from the weapon which coincides with where the bullet will impact, not accounting for bullet drop. This allows the player to more easily hipfire the weapon. The laser can also be seen by enemies, so it is important to pay attention to where it is being projected to avoid compromising your position.
Trivia[]
- The presence of a laser sight is more easily noticed on night maps instead of day maps.
