A damage multiplier is the number that the base damage of a weapon or attack is multiplied by to yield the actual damage in-game. The higher the multiplier, the more lethal the shot. Generally shots to upper torso, especially head and chest, increase damage, while hitting the legs will decrease damage.

Insurgency Default Damage Multipliers[]

In this game, damage multipliers are based off of the following template, although they may differ drastically for each weapon, weapon class, and ammo type. The table below lists the damage multipliers from highest to lowest.

Assault Rifles, Semi-Automatic Rifles and Carbines, Light Machine Guns, Sniper Rifles[]

All weapons follow the default damage multiplier, as shown above.

Sub-Machine Gun and Pistols[]

SMGs and pistols have reduced multipliers to the chest and stomach and increased multipliers on the limbs.
