AS Val

The ^🌐AS Val (Russian: Автомат Специальный Вал, Avtomat Special'nyj Val, English: Special Automatic Rifle) is a Soviet-designed rifle featuring an integrated suppressor. It was developed in 1987 by TsNIITochMash and was added to the arsenal of the Soviet Army and the KGB and is used by Russian Spetsnaz special forces and select units of the Russian Army. It uses heavy subsonic 9×39mm SP-6 (high-performance armor-piercing) ammunition.

The AS Val is an assault rifle featured in Insurgency: Sandstorm. It was added in the Operation Nightfall update.

The AS Val is an integrally suppressed assault rifle with a high rate of fire. It is hindered by its small default magazine capacity of 20, with an extended magazine option only bringing it up to the default capacity.

Trivia

• The Woodburn Weapon Skin set gives the AS Val the wooden stock from the VSS Vintorez, which is a sniper rifle variant of the AS Val. The stats of the weapon are unchanged.
• The extended magazine is based on the 30-round 9×39mm magazine that the AS Val's successor–the SR-3M–uses.
